Cultural Excursions in South West France
Learning French in the heart of the French countryside through partaking in activities with LIP not only allows you to develop your language skills, but also helps you to unveil the rich French culture in the most genuine environment. Turn an ordinary holiday into a spectacular experience and discover South West France! Participating in outings allows you the opportunity to practice your conversational French in an abundance of contexts with native speakers, and is a sure way to improve your confidence and overall fluency in French!
In general, this course is aimed for adults with a minimum B1 Level in French. We are, however, able to offer our French Excursion Course to families where children are accompanied by their parent or guardian, and parts of the course may in this case take place in English.
At LIP we help you develop the confidence which is key to conversations with native French speakers. We do this by providing a cultural, conversational, and residential programme where you have conversations, rather than structured lessons, in French, all day, every day. In this way you enjoy total immersion in the French culture.
Indulge in French Finery
LIP offers a wide range of excursions and activities which will help you to discover the Tarn-et-Garonne region and to practise French in an informal setting. With our region being so famous for its fine gastronomy, our cultural excursion programme offers you a fantastic opportunity to savour the rich food culture France is so famous for. The Tarn-et-Garonne area boasts a wide variety of grapes and vineyards stretching as far as the horizon. Some of these can be found in Montpezat-de-Quercy and Castelnau Montratier, which we can visit for wine tasting. Our region also boasts a variety of fresh, local produce, including an abundance of fruit and vegetables, fois gras, meats, cheeses and yoghurts.
Spend your summer participating in activities such as canoeing along the Aveyron river and enjoying the breathtaking scenery from right on the water. Our horse riding activities are a popular way of exploring the gorgeous Quercy region around the fairy tale medieval hill village of Lauzerte. Unleash your wild side with a visit to one of the many paintball or treetop adventure parks in the area.
If you like something less intensive, we can also take you on hikes or bike rides along the Canal du Midi, or any other picturesque trail in the area, including the world famous Compostello trail, walked by thousands of pilgrims anually on their way to Santiago de Compostela in Spain!
