Horse Riding Activities in Occitanie
We are able to offer French equestrian immersion programmes in conjunction with our partner, the equestrian centre in Lauzerte, South West France. The ‘Domaine Équestre de Lauzerte’ was founded in 1987, and provides horse riding lessons and holiday camps at their picturesque location on the outskirts of the medieval settlement of Lauzerte. Their excellent facilities include on site accommodation, a large outdoor arena, two indoor arenas, a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a beach volley-ball court.
The riding school has a range of horses and ponies to suit all levels of ability, from complete beginner to advanced event rider. The team of professional horse riding instructors have years of teaching experience under their belts, and are always patient with non-native students. To help you prepare for and settle in to your course, we will provide you with a French equestrian survival kit at the beginning of your stay to teach you the basic words and phrases that you will need to get by.
The riding stables in Quercy teaches dressage, cross-country and show-jumping but can also introduce you to horsemanship, TREC and driving, all in the heart of the incredible French countryside.
French Classes at the Stables
Riding lessons will take place in the morning and after lunch, with daily French lessons with Didier from LIP taking place on-site in the afternoons. As with all of our French language courses, our French equestrian programme is adjusted to each individual to help them with achieving their own personal goals in French.
Stay Over at the Stables
Accommodation for our horse riding programmes is available on site in small gîtes and bungalows, each containing two to six beds. All on site accommodation gîtes and bungalows have their own bathrooms, and you will share your accommodation with other like-minded equestrians, most of whom will be native French, so there will be plenty of opportunity to practise your language skills!
