Full on French Immersion
Stay in the home of your private French tutor for a French total immersion course and see for yourself how your abilities to communicate in and understand French significantly improve in a short space of time. Taking a homestay French tuition course allows you to take formal private French classes in the morning, before delving into the richness of French culture in the afternoon, providing you with the opportunity to put you newly acquired linguistic skills into authentic, real life practise. We offer private French tuition near Toulouse, Paris, Vazerac, Nantes, and Marseilles. We put the choice of location in your hands to give you the best possible immersion experience.
Cultural Insights
Studying and living at your French tutor’s home is a fantastic way to discover the French culture in an authentic family environment. Dinnertime discussions about the principle of “laicité” (secularity), the history of France’s migrant populations, and the French ‘quality not quantity’ attitude towards food will mean you finish your course with a deeper understanding of the French culture.
Expert Tuition
All of our private French tutors are all highly qualified, holding CAPES or ‘agrégation’ diplomas. Since we provide highly-skilled teachers who have years of experience teaching in French schools, we can only offer this programme during the French school holidays..
Tailored Teaching
You can choose the number of private French lessons you take. Most of our students opt to take 15 to 20 lessons per week (one lesson = 60 minutes), but a more intensive teaching programme can be arranged according to your specific requirements if necessary. Our one-to-one immersion programmes are by far the most efficient for yeilding maximum results in a very short time period.
Host Families
Stay in the house of your French teacher, or in some cases, with a French host family to maximise your French immersion experience.
Our French host families are selected with great care. All hosts are subjected to extensive background checks to ensure your safety during your stay.
At LIP we believe our strength is variety and choice : families can be a couple or single parent families, with children of any age.
We always do our best to ensure you have a positive French immersion experience by matching the host family to your personal profile. We always aim to find a family whose interests are similar to your own. Learning French should be fun, and by speaking about topics you find interesting and engaging in activities you enjoy, you will find your French improving with seemingly little effort. At least two half-day cultural or sporting activities per week will be organised by your host family.
When to come?
To ensure your host family’s availability, you will always be invited during the French school holiday periods, except at Christmas.
This includes the months of July and August and 15-day periods in November, February and April.
Please note that the two-week holiday periods of February and April change every year and vary by French regions.
Your Room
With your host family, you will have your own bedroom with a single or double bed. Each room has a desk or table, chair, lamp, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Washing facilities for clothes are provided, and hosts wash student bedding once a week. Private bathrooms are available upon request, so please specify on the form if this is something you are looking for.
All meals are enjoyed with your hosts, which provides ample opportunity for French conversation.
Given that you may be living in France for the first time, you may experience some cultural differences. We encourage openness and communication, so please speak to Didier or your host family if there’s anything we can do to help you settle in to this new culture.
